Tampa Museum of Art

Tampa Museum of Art is a major American art museum located in Tampa, Florida. The museum was established in 1979 and is also home to the University of South Florida's art collection.
The building is part of the recent renovation and restoration projects in downtown Tampa aimed at revitalizing the city center and encouraging urban living in Ybor City.
The top floor features a fine dining restaurant and bar: C2 Restaurant and Lounge. The terrace level houses the Museum Shop and cafe: Cafe Gala. The lobbies feature public art installations by local artists Tamara Garbacz and Carole Harris.
Located on the Hillsborough River, within walking distance of Channelside and Ybor City, the museum holds a significant collection of American and European art ranging from the 16th century to today.

What to Expect

The museum draws 200,000 people annually and offers a full schedule of exhibitions, ranging from its rotating permanent collection galleries to traveling exhibitions. The museum also has educational programs for all ages, an interactive children's gallery, films in the auditorium, and access to research materials in the library and archives at the University of South Florida.
One of our favorite events is Family Fun Fridays, which are free for USF students, faculty, staff, and Hillsborough County students with ID. The Tampa Museum of Art has partnered with the Glazer Children's Museum to offer special activities for children on these Fridays.
